Description

Sheer linen dress, yellowed with age (may have been cream or ivory originally). Drawstring and faux button snap closure. Insert lace detailing on bodice and skirt; would have been worn with a slip. Sash is pinstripe coral pin satin.

Elaine M. Alarcon of Anoka bought this vintage dress and coral-colored sash (c. 1920s) to be her wedding dress when she married Barclay P. Totten in Denver, Colorado on September 16, 1978. Elaine was a student without much money at the time, and enjoyed vintage clothes, so she found this dress in a vintage shop in Denver.
