Albany, N.Y.", the stove is the same as the one in the bank in 1876.
Northfield News, Thursday, May 11, 1978: "An antique stove, exactly like the one that was in the First National Bank of Northfield at the time it was raided by the James-Younger gang in 1876, was located several months ago by the restoration architect retained by the Northfield Historical society and was given to the society by Mr. and Mrs. Gerhard Ellestad. The stove recently arrived from the Eastern seaboard and has been set up in the bank museum where Ellestad is pictured examining it. The handsome iron stove with isinglass insets, was made in the late 1860s in upstate New York, one of comparatively few produced. The society board considers it a near miracle that one could be found at this time."
