Iver (aka Ivar) Barsness and Ingeborg Gjesme Barsness. These two were the parents of Art’s father’s mother. Iver and Ingeborg came to the United States from Norway in 1854. They had seven children:
11 Ole Barsness (aka Olav Gjesme in Norway) was born in Norway in 1843.
12 Peter (aka Per) Barsness was born in Norway in 1846.
13 Ever (aka Iver) Barsness was born in Norway in 1848.
14 Kristine Barsness was born in Norway in 1852.
15 Andrew (aka Saga) Barsness was born at sea during their immigration journey in 1854.
16 Andrena Barsness was born in the US (Wisconsin) in 1857.
17 Sophia Barsness was born in the US (Wisconsin) in 1861.
In about 1870 Iver, Ingeborg, and family left Wisconsin and started farming in an area south of Starbuck, Minnesota, and therefore many descendants lived or are from that area.
