Description
This mixed-media collage by Daren S. Hill, created in 2023, is entitled, “Portrait of Dawn”. Dawn is the woman in the middle and is the artist's mother. In the composition, Dawn is accompanied by text and phrases, paper, and paint. Text and phrases include, “Earth”, “light”, “sun”, and “dawn”. The metaphor of Hill's mother as Mother Earth aims to highlight the importance Hill's mother had in his life and the respect Hill has for her and the environment.
