Description

A: Long uniform jacket made from black wool with tails, a high collar, and pointed lapels. The collar has two tiers of gold ribbon bands stitched into it. Two rows of six buttons run down the chest; each button is gold and embossed with the design of an eagle with a shield on its chest holding an olive branch in its right claw and a bundle of arrows in its left claw, above it is a disc with thirteen stars and a scroll reading “E Pluribus Unum”. On the front of each sleeve is an overlapping, three loop design constructed from thin, braided, gold and silver cord above a band of gold ribbon.

B: Roughly oval-shaped epaulet constructed from braided gold cord that has been woven over itself on a flat, black felt background. At the outermost point is a gold metal button embossed with the image of an eagle with a shield on its chest holding an olive branch in its right claw and a bundle of arrows in its left claw, above it is a disc with thirteen stars and a scroll reading “E Pluribus Unum”. On the reverse side is a long, hinged, metal arm with a hole at one end. Corresponding to the hole is a raised metal nub.
