Rick Holland is the community outreach manager for Leech Lake Chapel Police and is part of the Pets for Life grant in Leech Lake, Minnesota. His primary role is to help community members in keeping their pets and getting them veterinary care. He is also involved in the SIRVS program, which is the Student Initiative for Reservation Veterinary Services at the University of Minnesota.

In this interview, Rick Holland discusses how he came into his position as community outreach manager. He discusses how he came to realize that there was a big need for someone to help the community in getting their animals veterinary care. He shares some of the challenges that he faces in this position, such as getting animals seen in a timely manner and educating the community on what veterinary services animals need. He concludes the interview discussing his hopes for the new veterinary clinic being built at Leech Lake and touches on how important it is for the community to be involved in caring for these animals.
