An oil lamp base with a brass top and clear glass bottom. There is a metal port in the glass base for refilling the oil or kerosene fuel. Scovill Manufacturing Company logo on the handle.
The company was founded in 1802 as Abel Porter and Company and would have several names throughout its history until 1976 when it sold their brass lamp production to century brass company. The logo on the lamp was used between 1850-1960.
