Description
Small black-and-white photograph of Paul Schultz (left) and Alfos Peterson (right) of Minnetonka Mills. Shultz is wearing a plaid jacket while Peterson is in a white shirt; they are posed in front of a pleated curtain and both are smiling slightly. The donor enclosed with the photo a message from Lee Alderson (son of Avis and Fran Alderson of Cedar Lake Road) with his recollections of the two men. He noted Alfos Peterson was good with children and had a daughter of his own. He lived in a shack on the Terwilliger farm on Cedar Lake Road until it burned down, then moved to Minnetonka Mills, where he lived behind the residence of a dentist in the southwest corner of Baker Road and Minnetonka Boulevard. He always wore ankle-high canvas tennis shoes, regardless of the season. He worked as a farmhand and handyman, and collected china and glass. Paul Schultz also lived in the Minnetonka Mills area and worked as a farmhand. There is also a handwritten note on the back of the photo that reads: “Carl Carlson's [illegible] of two rugged Minnetonka Mills men with strong & unusual characters. Paul Shultz, Alfos Peterson.”
