This framed drawing appears to be a copy. The drawing depicts a large group of Indian teepees on a flat grassy field. There are male Indians grouped in front, women working with hides, two Indians on a horse, animals and children in the area. Below the drawing is a name, “G. Catlin” and the number 164. The drawing is matted with off-white matting and a ½ inch black metal frame. The back of the frame has 1-inch metal corner braces, each secured with 2 screws. The two lower corner braces have 3/8 inch plastic buttons for wall protection. A metal cable is strung from each side of the frame from ¾in. x 1 ½ in. metal bars attached to the frame. There is a silver label on the back reading, “TruGuard UV Protection” for protecting the artwork. A tan envelope is glued to the back with a label inserted. The Label reads, “Mandan Indians Map, a Chromolithograph published in 1913, Artist, George Catlin from the North american Indians publisher, Leary, Stuart & Co. Philadelphia: 1913.” Handwritten below is,"Teepees Plate 164."
