A butcher's cleaver with wooden handle and W.M. Beatty & Son Company logo. 

The William M. Beatty & Sons company which began in 1806 when William Beatty started making tools in Waterville, Pennsylvania. In 1839 the company was named W.M. Beatty & Sons after a few of his family members started working for him. The company made high quality axes and cleavers until the company closed in 1882.
