Blackwell & CO Tobacco was a manufacturer in Durham, NC that was founded in 1857 and was best known for their Bull Durham Tobacco, the first nationally marketed brand of tobacco products in the United States. The Blackwell Factory was built between 1874 and 1903 and was one of the largest tobacco factories in the world. The brand continued through various ownership changes until it was discontinued in 1988.
