Description
"Eight inches in diameter by 4 1/4 inches in height, this Papago basket is woven of light colored yucca. A design of dark crosses, from devil's claw, is worked into the basket, and this same dark material is used to outline a flower on the cover. Originally the Papagos made only flat baskets, but began making this type of basket and others to accommodate the white trade. "There are 3 coils and 8 stitches per inch.
