Description
This print denotes 6 or more Native Americans dancing in full native costumes. The print is done primarily in black and white, but has some color on the costumes. The background appears to be mountainous, and there is at least one Indian on horseback. The print is double matted---¼ inch light cream textured first, then 3 inch darker cream textured to the edge. There is a 1 inch textured wood-like frame around the outside. The back of the print is sealed with brown paper. For hanging, there is a 1/8 inch cable fasted to the frame on either side with metal screw-eyes. There is a 3" x 7.5" paper label taped to the brown paper. That label tells the history of how the paintings were executed…from an 1834 visit to North America to Bodmer's completion in Europe. Hand-printed on the brown paper are the words,"Engraving from Bodmer painting Octavio Folio 1857". At the bottom corner of the frame are two ½ inch plastic wall protectors. At the center is a silver label IDing the framer.
