Effie Davis was a daughter of Orange Runnels Davis and his wife, the former Olive Pettis. Effie May Davis (b. 8-2-1858 at Lake Emily, d. 9-29-1922 in Glasgow, MT) married Ashford Dow Poston (b. 1850 in Illinois, d. 1893 in St. Paul, MN) on 3-5-1875 in Kasota, MN. They lived in Forest Lake, MN. Ashford was buried at Forest Lake. Effie moved to be with her daughter in Glasgow, MT in 1913. Effie was buried there. They had a daughter, Maude Annette Poston-Katz-Pettis (b. 2-24-1878 in St. Peter, MN; d. 7-31-1922 in Warm Springs, MT), who lived in Montana. Maude married Charles Katz (b.12-3-1854; d. 5-30-1916 in Williston, ND) circa1905. Maude and Charles had a daughter, Rivka Katz (Rivka Adna Katz-Schappacher-Pratt) and a foster daughter, Elmeada Katz (Elmeada Johanna Arnold-Katz). After the death of Charles, Maude married Adna Pettis (b. 7-24-1868 in Kasota, MN; d. 4-16-1948 in St. Peter, MN). She was buried in Williston, ND with her first husband.
