Peterson and Nelson. B/W photo of Peter A. Peterson (seated) and John Nelson, both of Brighton Township. While all of the following is based on research results, it is possible that either of these men has been incorrectly identified. A man named Peter A. Peterson (born August 1845) appears on the 1900 Brighton census with his wife and son. The 1900 and 1910 Brighton census records also list a man named John Nelson, who was born in Minnesota in 1860. His wife was named Annie. Several children are also listed. That same 1900 census states that a woman named Margretha Nelson (born February of 1816) was the mother. Brighton Methodist Lakeside Cemetery records show that John's parents were Olaf and Margaret (a varient spelling of Margretha).
