Description
Clark, Alta Keith. B/W photo of Alta Keith Clark. She was the daughter of Edward and Agnes (Bean) Clark. Note: on August 10th, 2007 a relative of this woman stopped at the museum and said that Alta had been a war correspondent in France in World War One, and that she had traveled extensively, including at least one trip to Japan. The man who stopped here also said that Alta never married, probably died in the Twin Cities area, and that her ashes are in Greenhill Cemetery in St. Peter [RJS, 8.10.2007]. The 1900 St. Paul, ward 10, district 149 census lists 65-year old Agnes Clark, 41-year old daughter Ella Clark, and another daughter, 30-year old Dispatch literary editor Alta K. Clark. Nicollet County marriage records state that Agnes Bean married Edward Clark on December 8, 1857.
