Description

Brandt, Elizabeth and Rose. B/W photo of Elizabeth Brandt and Rose Brandt. A note on the reverse of photo E1120 states that it shows Mrs. Frank Feldman, formerly known as Elizabeth Brandt. Nicollet County marriage records state that Frank Feldman married Elizabeth Brandt on June 6th, 1895. Photos E1120 and E1121 most likely show the same person. The 1880 St. Peter census lists a Brandt family with children named Rose and Elizabeth. They were the children of saloon keeper John Brandt (age 43, born in Prussia) and his wife, Frederika Brandt (age 42, born in Prussia). The children were: Mary Brandt (age 14, born in Illinois), Ida Brandt (age 9, born in Illinois), Lizzie Brandt (age 8, born in Minnesota), and Rosa Brandt (age 6, born in Minnesota). It is not clear which of the girls in E1121 is Elizabeth and which is Rosa. The order of the names on the back of the photo is the opposite of the order on the front.
