Description
St. Peter Girls. B/W photo of six St. Peter girls: Ida Schleuder, Grace Ribble, Anna Hodgkins, Ella Ribble, Carrie Hodgkins, and Edith Montgomery. All of the young women are wearing caps with visors. The following appears on the back of the photo: "Taken Summer of 1891" and "Ida Schleuder Strathern, Grace Ribble Clark, Anna Hodgkin, Ella Ribble Boudeaux, Carrie Hodgkin Satory, Edith Montgomery." Census and marriage records from Nicollet County indicate that the "Hodgkin" surname should be spelled as "Hodgkins," as in "Anna Hodgkins" and "Carrie Hodgkins." The spelling of the "Boudeaux" surname is "Beaudoux" on the Internet in the list of Nicollet County marriages, which would mean that Ella Ribble became Ella Beaudoux. Henry Beaudoux and Ella Beaudoux can be found in the 1897 Nicollet County marriage records and in the 1910 St. Paul census. Anna Hodgkins married F. A. Weir in Nicollet County. Note: the 1920 St. Peter census lists "Anna Wier" as a daughter of William Hodgkins. It is not clear whether Anna's married name was "Wier" or "Weir."
