Mary Clark, c.1885. Mary Nutter Clark was the wife of James Clark.

Mary was the daughter of James F. Nutter and his first wife, Catherine Lance. James and Catherine were married in Hunterdon County on 9 Feb 1847, Mary was born in 1848, and Catherine died sometime within the next few years. James married Nancy Roberts in Morris County on 12 Nov 1853. Their oldest son, William Emmet Nutter was born in 1853 in New Jersey; the family is found on the 1857 census in St. Peter, Minn.

Mary Nutter Clark and James Clark were the parents of Charles Clark, who donated this collection of photographs.

This photograph was found in album I-26, previously PA-26, donated by Charles H. Clark and from the James Clark home. Many photos were identified, presumably by Charles Clark.
