Company I. B/W photo of members of Company I of the Second Minnesota Infantry Regiment of the Minnesota National Guard from St. Peter. This is one of several copies of this photo. Names appear on the back of each photo. The follwing appears on the back of E3903: "right to left, Bottom row: Henry Ludcke, Will Laumann, Joe Poetz (on Dad's lap), Henry Ludcke [faintly, in red ink], Pascal McConnell - on his chair is Will Cox - next chair Julius Schleuder with little Mascot" and "Top row: at right is Henry J. Schmidt" and "4th man from H. J. Schmidt is Emil Holden." E3903 was donated by Alma (Schumacher) Laumann. The following appears on the back of E7459: "Company I M. N. G." and "Upper Row left to right Wm. Mallgren, A. E. Nelson, Albert Olson, Dan Needham, Geo. Tolan_Dr. J. F. Snyder, Jack Anderson, Name Unknown, Henry J. Schmidt," and "Lower Row Name Unknown, Julius Schleuder, Pascal McConnell, W. S. Cox, Joseph A. Poetz, W. G. Laumann, Henry J. Ludcke." The names were written in a column, so the commas were inserted in order to provide clarity. Also, Dr. Snyder's name was written to the right of Geo. Tolan, and Name Unkown was written to the right of Jack Anderson. The following appears on the back of E7460: "Top row - l. to r. 5th from left - Emil Holden - at extreme right is Henry Schmidt" and "Bottom row - l. to r. 1st chair ------ 2nd Julius Schleuder with Little Mascot" and " 'little' Joe Poetz sitting on lap of William G. Laumann." E7460 was also donated by Alma Laumann. The following appears on the back of E7461: "Bottom row - left to right next chair Julius Schleuder with little Mascot, then Pascal McConnell with Will Cox on his chair, Joe Poetz on Will Laumann's lap, last Henry Ludcke" and Top row 5th from left - Emil Holden - at extreme right is Henry Schmidt." E7461 was donated by Mrs. Wm. G. Laumann. The photos show the men in front of tents in a camp. E7460 is clearly dated twice as June 23, 1890.
