South Minnesota Avenue. B/W photo of South Minnesota Avenue in St. Peter before the 1887 fire. Grace Street can be seen immediately in front of the "HARDWARE" sign. Park Row is on the far side of the tallest building on the right. That tallest building was located where the ACE Hardware Store is located in 2011. Steel-wheeled farm equipment can be seen in front of the hardware store on the left, sitting on or beside the boardwalk. The "HARDWARE" sign indicates that this is the Mason & Boardman Hardware Store on the west side of the 300 block of South Minnesota Avenue, on the northwest corner of the intersection of Grace Street and the Avenue. This store is shown in photo E1857. Most of the buildings along the east side of the 100 block and the 200 block of South Minnesota Avenue can be seen in the distance at right.
