Description

College Women. B/W photo of a group of women students at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter. Names are listed in a vertical column on the back of the photo as follows: Emma Johnson, Lydia Erickson, Gertrude Anderson, Hilda Johnson, Hedvick Hammerstrom, Welhelmina Linnell. The 1910 Minneapolis census lists 29 year-old Hedvick Hammerstrom and her sister. Hedvick was born in Sweden, and worked in a millinery store. Wilhelmina Linnell married J. W. Hawkinson in Chisago County on April 16, 1906. The above information suggests that the photo may have been taken circa 1900.
