Group. Color photo of people at the 1971 Nicollet County Fair, which was the Centennial Fair. The label on the back of photo E3758 reads as follows: "Top row Martin Annexstad Jr., Kenneth Eckberg, Gloria Benson, Merrill Claridge, Stanley Davis, Bill Gustafson" and "Bottom row: Herbert Monke, Secy, Lloyd Seitzer, Lyle Nelson (promotion chairman), Robert Faust, Fred Wetherill (Nicollet County Extension Agent)." This list omits two men in the top row to the left of Gloria Benson. Photos E5437A through E5437D are enlarged versions of E3758. The first three of that set of four have names written on the backs. Using the information from the four E5437 photos, it appears that the label for E3758 is correct, except that Otto Rietter (Nicollet County marriage records suggest the it should be Otto Reitter) should be the next person after Kenneth Eckberg and that Charles Poncin should be the person between Otto Rietter and Gloria Benson (the pageant supervisor). Also, E3822 is much like E3758, but it does not include a list of names. Each person holds one of the promotional yardsticks from that year's fair.
