Description

Margaret McCabe, the former Margaret Moriarity, c.1880. Margaret was the wife of John McCabe. One of two duplicate cartes-de-visite is glued onto a piece of velvet that was part of a frame. A note with the photo, presumably from the donor reads: Grandma Margaret MacCabe [sic] (Dad's grandmother). Came from Ireland - possibly to Canada then to U. S. (Dad thinks but is not sure). The father of the donor of the collection, John Kayser, was Richard (Dick) Kayser.

The second CDV has a label on the verso that reads: Mrs. John McCabe, Post Master St. Peter, hair black, eyes med[ium] brown, Sept. 1st.
