Swenson Farm. Color 1963 photo of the Owen Swenson and Evelyn Swenson farm in section 23 of New Sweden Township. Fields of grain and clusters of trees appear in the distance. The farm has been in the family since 1863 (received title in 1874). Ole O. Haugen was the first owner. The owners at the time of the photo were Edgar T. Haugen, Martin O. Haugen, William S. Haugen, and Stella M. Haugen. The cow barn is at the left center of the photo. A granary and a windmill tower are near the center, and a corn crib is above the granary. The house is surrounded by trees in the lower right. Aerial views at different years are at ED3316 (1982), ED4826 (1963) and ED4827. The farm was featured in the Dec. 6, 2007 Lafayette Nicollet Ledger.
