Title
Tostenson Threshing MachineCreation Date
September 24 1895Description
Tostenson Threshing Machine. B/W photo of the threshing machine owned by T. E. Tostenson of New Sweden Township on September 24,1895. It is not known where the photo was taken, so it can't be assumed that it was taken in Nicollet County. The threshing machine on the left was driven with a long belt from the steel-wheeled, steam engine with the tall, bulbous smoke stack on the right side of the photo. Onn the left side of the photo, note the wide straw carrier on the rear of the threshing machine separator, which was elevating the straw onto a pile. In the center of the photo, a team of horses is shown pulling a water wagon that was used for adding water to the steam engine.
