Swenson Farm. Color circa 1982 aerial photo of the Owen Swenson and Evie Swenson Century Farm site in section 23 of New Sweden Township.
The farm was featured in the Dec. 6, 2007 Layfayette Nicollet Ledger. The farm has been owned by the family since 1863 (received title in 1874), when it was established by Ole O. Haugen. The silo in the lower left is next to a milking barn (not used for that in 2010) that is attached to the main barn, which has a milk room attached on the side. An open calf shed is visible in the photo above those structures. A machine shed and a smaller corn crib are to the right of the barn, and the family home is surrounded by trees in the lower right corner of the photo.
