2010 Flood. Color photo of flooded Highway 169 in St. Peter. This is a view to the east, slightly south of the Nicollet County Historical Society's building. The photo was taken on September 26, 2010 from a parking lot on the southwest corner of the intersection of Highways 169 and 22 (also called Dodd Avenue). The 2010 flood was caused by heavy rainfall south of Mankato on September 23rd. Nearly 12 inches of rain fell in the Mapleton and Amboy areas, but less than four inches fell in Mankato and St. Peter. The river crested in St. Peter on September 28, 2010.
