2010 Flood. Color photo of the flooded Highway 169 in St. Peter. This views shows bicycles on the east lane of the recently closed highway. The photo was taken on September 26, 2010 from a parking lot on the southwest corner of the intersection of Highways 169 and 22 (also known as Dodd Avenue). The Nicollet County Historical Society's building is to the left, and the Society's log cabin is on the far right. Note: The highway lanes are not covered with water at this point. The 2010 flood was caused by heavy rainfall south of Mankato on September 23rd. Nearly 12 inches of rain fell in the Mapleton and Amboy areas, but less than 4 inches fell in Mankato and St. Peter. The river crested in St. Peter on September 28, 2010.
