2010 Flood. Color photo of Minnesota River flood waters covering Highway 169 in front of the Nicollet County Historical Society building on September 27, 2010. The photo was taken from a parking lot on the southwest corner of the intersection of Highway 169 and Highway 22 (also known as Dodd Avenue). The Society's log cabin is visible at the far right. The 2010 flood was caused by heavy rainfall south of Mankato on September 23rd. Nearly 12 inches of rain fell in the Mapleton and Amboy areas, but less than four inches fell in Mankato and St. Peter. The river crested in St. Peter on September 28, 2010.
