2010 Flood. Color photo of Minnesota River flood waters covering Highway 169 and part of the "St. Peter" sign. The photo was taken on September 27, 2010 from a parking lot on the southwest corner of the intersection of Highways 169 and 22 (also known as Dodd Avenue). The 2010 flood was caused by heavy rainfall south of Mankato on September 23rd. Nearly 12 inches of rain fell in the Mapleton and Amboy areas, but less than four inches fell in Mankato and St. Peter. The river crested in St. Peter on September 28, 2010.
