Description

Green box with a butterfly and gold fern pattern on the front.  Contained 33 handkerchiefs (87.54.1 to .33)and several other small items including: Pink ribbon with the word “teacher”, iron-on monogram diamond shaped patches in the letters K and R for Regina Kelley, brown velvet bow, chenille pipe cleaner shamrock, two metal keychain charms with The Lord's Prayer, one keychain chain copper cowboy hat, key to grey suitcase, key to small case, keychain fob copper arrowhead, red taffeta fabric square. A handwritten note has a running total of handkerchiefs received by Regina Kelley as gifts from her students.  She started her count with 98 handkerchiefs in 1959, and had received 180 by Feb. 1967.  Box also contains a number of gift tags from her students that were found with handkerchiefs.
