2025.077.001 Kathrine “Kat” Brooks was an Army specialist who had her basic training at Fort McClellan, being one of the last to serve in the WAC, or the Women’s Army Corps, which was disbanded soon after she graduated. During the Vietnam War she was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany, since she spoke German, with her father having been stationed there during WWII. She would then enter the 709th Military Police Battalion, where she would mostly deal with GIs on R&R, though she did have to do normal police work for the German people. She served from 1973–1974.
