Description

This cone-shaped basket is 17 inches in diameter and 15 inches high. It is made from natural colored willow root with widely spaced vertical stripes of darkened willow root. The Hoopas, who used this basket, had a two inch band of white material attached to either side. This band they wore across their foreheads with the basket and its contents hanging down in back. Emma Frank made this basket which is done in an open weave.
