American Legion, Excelsior, Minn, Post 259, garrison cap. Navy Blue with gold embroidered piping and lettering. The American Legion emblem and "Excelsior, Minn" are embroidered on one side and "259" on the other side. Yellow silk lining. Brown leather headband "100% WOOL M'F'R. 420 NATIONAL EMBLEM SALES NATIONAL HEADQUARTERS THE AMERICAN LEGION INDIANAPOLIS, IND." in gold lettering on the headband. 26 pins and 4 patches are attached including: United State Marine Corps emblem, "ITS TIME FOR ACTION MINNESOTA '71-'72", "40/8", "'72" on an United State flag background,"MINNESOTA LEGION MIGHTY TENTH", yellow Florida pin, plastic gopher pin, Past Commander pin with ribbon, Past Adjutant pin with ribbon, Past Service Officer pin with ribbon, 1966 American Legion shield with red enamel background, 1967 American Legion pin, 1965 American Legion roll call for men of distinction pin, Moore Missileer Membership 1959 pin, 12 silver star pins, a red and gold patch with a gopher and "57" on it, a white patch with the outline of the state of Minnesota embroidered in blue with 1958 in the middle, and a black and gold star patch with 25 embroidered in the middle. Another black and gold star patch with 40 embroidered in the middle is tucked inside the folds of the hat.
