Description
Flag commemorating the United States Post Office collected by Maurice Stans when he served as Postmaster General under President Dwight D. Eisenhower. The flag is cream colored linen. Stitched at the center of the piece is a large round logo showing a hand colored illustration of a horse and rider delivering the U. S. mail (pony express). Text around the illustration reads "Post Office Department/United States of America." Stitched at each corner of the flag are navy blue cotton stars. The left edge of the linen is curled over and stitched to form a loop for display purposes. A flat piece of leather is adhered to the inside of the loop. Maker's label sewn inside the loop.
