Description
Either medium brown cedar or spruce has been used in making this 11 inch bowl, 6 inches high. Grass has been woven in to form the triangular and line design around the bowl. This waterproof basket was used for cooking, especially the acorn mush of the Hoopas. Hot stones were put in with the mixture, and then it was stirred with a little paddle (See 1966.1.69) to keep the basket from being burned. In the early days they cooked only in baskets.
