Goldenrod paper with black and red print, stapled with pages inside. 

In black print along top edge ‘Effective March 1, 1945’ Two thin black lines below.

Slanted red Milwaukee Road logo in top right of corner of letter. letter is addressed to ‘Fellow Employees of the Milwaukee Road:’  The letter addresses that despite war stresses, service is important to keep in mind and to remember the human element. Keeping tyhe Milwaukee Road's future and reputation is in the employyess hands. 

On the left side is ‘Hiawatha’ in red cursive  Black type below ‘A name rich in folk lore lives on in the war record of a fleet of great trains’ Further description continues in smaller print below in an inverted triangular shape. A red circular Hiawatha logo is to the left bottom of the wording.
