Description

A view of the harbor canals in Copenhagen. In the foreground left is Børsen, (Danish for "the bourse" or "the stock exchange"), a 17th-century commodity bourse and later stock exchange in the centre of Copenhagen, Denmark. The building on the middle left with the spire is Christiansborg Palace, back left is Christiansborg Slotskirke, the church on Slotsholmen.

Painted by Thorvald Nygaard. He was trained at the Technical School and the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts (1913–1921). He focused on urban life, often painting bustling market scenes and traditional Nordic architecture. His paintings are considered to have a "charming" and "atmospheric" quality, capturing the charm of early 20th-century Denmark.
