Description

Over a month ago, Otto Solbreken, a Pope County commissioner from Gilchrist Township, was stricken with viral pneumonia and since that time, has been confined to Glenwood and St. Cloud hospitals. Twenty-four of his friends and neighbors came together to plow and seed his 50 acres of land. They also plowed Mrs. Solbreken's garden and removed rocks from the 50 acres. Families (husbands and wives) that worked on the Solbreken project included: Milton Syverson, Stanley Syverson, Walter Thorson, Arden Swenson, Helmer Bakko, Oliver Halls, Oscar Fiskbeck, Jerry Sorenson, Edwin Christianson, Omar Christianson, Forrest Christianson, Roy Aasgard, Albert Hegg, Elroy Tengwald, Ralph Sanders, Chester Tvedt, Sidney Tvedt, Earl Moen, Christian Hegg, Art Tengwald, Elwood Engen, Galen Ward, Charles Holtcamp, and Palmer Arness.
