Framed clipping from the Minnesota Legionnaire, Feb. 2010 page 8.  “West Loch Disaster” with two additional laminated copies of the article.  Includes photo of Burnham Bredesen, photos from the incident and photo and story of shrapnel piece 2012.001.17.  The article recounts Bredesen's experience at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii on May 21, 1944 when a series of landing ships loaded with ammunition exploded and burned.  At the time, the incident was not publicized even though 163 were killed and 396 injured in the accident.
