Description
“The people in the United States move so fast. It seems they are always in a hurry,” commented Marisol Verdesoto, a foreign exchange student attending Glenwood High School." “marisol,” short for Cecilia Maria Soledad Verdesoto Garcelen, has made her home with the Earl Fingerson family of rural Glenwood since coming to the United States from her native home of Guayaquil, Ecuador, in February. Marisol noted that she lived on the farm here ,but in Ecuador most landowners do not live on the farms, rather they hire workers to tend crops and livestock. While in Glenwood she studied courses in art and sculpture. She summed up her stay by saying, “Everyone has been very nice and friendly. I enjoyed staying with the family very much.” Marisol was would be returning home this week as classes resumed in Ecuador. Marisol is pictured, left, with Ann, Bruce and Ellen Fingerson.
