Description

German men's hat.  Navy wool mariners' or Breton cap.  Buttons on each side are navy blue and have an anchor on them.  A twisted cord runs across the front from one button to the opposite.  The short brim has a decorative lace band stitched around the brim. The front of the hat has a large pin with an oak leaf wreath and the State of Bremen, Germany flag.  The flag has two rows of red and white check on the left side and eight red and white stripes on the right side.   The inside label reads “Gustav Ruemeir, Hote und Mutzen. Bremen. Var dem Steintor 71”.
