PZ: Today is August 1, 2009. This is Pat Zankman. I am at the home of John and Jean Lindell in Colvill, and this is an interview with John Lindell. Hello John!

JL: Hi Pat!

PZ: John, how did you get to Grand Marais? Where did you come from?

JL: Well, we moved here from Bayfield, Wisconsin when I was four years old, in 1936, and we lived in the little gray house in Johnsonville, it's the second house up the street.

PZ: Johnsonville being, 8th Avenue West?

JL: 8th Avenue West. Second house up. It's what number, 6th or what? I don't remember.

PZ: It's on the right or left hand side?

JL: It's on the right hand side coming up the hill.

PZ: Did you own it or just rent it?

JL: We rented it from Johnson.

PZ: Charlie?

JL: No, it was, but he built all of Johnsonville.
