PZ: We have here Dick Gilbertson, Hello Dick, and we have Lou Terrizzi and Eleanor Waha. Clare Twiest Terrizzi may also add information. Basically today we are going to talk about working at the News Herald. Dick, when did you start working? I think you started before Lou, right?

DG: Yah, I guess so. I started in 1948 right out of high school.

PZ: And what did you do?

DG: Well, I had to learn the very basics, I guess. I had no knowledge of printing at all. I came in and learned a few days what a press was, what a make-up table was, intertype machine was.

PZ: May I ask where the News Herald was at that time, where was it located?

DG: It was located where it is now!

PZ: Was that building built for the News Herald, or had it been built for something else?

DG: I think it might have been.

PZ: And I think the owner at that time was Ade Toftey?

DG: Yes, Ade Toftey was there. It had been owned by several different people before Ade Toftey bought it. Johnny Blackwell.
