Description

Pale pink and ivory dress with a pink satin underdress. Shoulder straps are made of ribbon with crystals. Overlayer is net with embroidery and beading. Combination of snap and hook and eye closures in the back. Large beaded circlets at each hip with trailing crystal beads. The hem of the underskirt is also trimmed with beading.

This was donated in 1980 by Ruth Schmitt. Ms. Schmitt was married to Walter E. Schmitt, son of Paul A. Schmitt who founded Schmitt Music Company, a famous Minneapolis-based music school and instrument store still in operation today. Her father was Frederick Parks Nash who founded Nash Finch Co., later merged into SpartanNash Co.
