Description

Pictured is a huge tent that housed the Glenwood Waterama Galilean concert, a victim of the wind.
A severe windstorm, accompanied by heavy rains, lashed the Glenwood area Sunday night, toppling over trees, damaging boats and docks and causing numerous power outages in the area. Torrential rains that fell from 8 p.m. and continued off and on for two hours dumped 1.27 inches of badly needed moisture in Glenwood, but left nearby areas relatively untouched. One large tree was blown down and fell on the roof of the new home owned by Hub Kleinschmidt on South Lakeshore Drive. Power lines were snapped by falling tree limbs, with Donavon Schaub, district supervisor for Northern States Power Co. in Glenwood reporting that there were eight major line breaks in the area.
