Description
Judy, the 17-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Billy Scott of Glenwood, was crowned by outgoing Queen Ann Vegoe at the Glenwood High School auditorium, assisted by Admiral Larry Torguson. It marked the first time in the 15-year history of Waterama that a coronation program has been held in the high school auditorium, but the move was forced by a torrential rain that struck the Glenwood area around 7 p.m. The two princesses chosen to reign with the new queen were first princess JoDee McDonald, daughter of Mrs. Blythe McDonald of Glenwood and the late Howard (Mickey) McDonald, and Sharon Strommen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Strommen of Glenwood. The coronation program was delayed for an hour by the rain, but went on without a hitch once it got started.
