Description
"Helmet" This hand knit, gray, head covering has slot opening for eyes. It was made c. 1918, part of nurse's uniform worn during World War 1 by Barbara Thompson. The top of the head is in stockinette stitch, the area around the face is done in 2 x 2 rib, and the bottom is garter stitch.
