Description
An unfinished linen quilt square or pillow sham is an embroidered friendship square. It is dated August 25, 1899, and embroidered by White Bear Lake residents. Each person signed the fabric piece and someone was embroidering over each name. Some names are embroidered and others are still just written on the fabric. Projects like these are sometimes called friendship samplers.
